Scruffy was a mange-covered, skin and bones, starving puppy who showed up at a home in Mexico three months ago. The people who found him had him neutered, treated for mange and worms, and inoculated -- he is now healthy and ready to go. He even has his doggie passport.
He LOVES people. And because he still has his puppy ways, he gets very excited when someone shows him a little affection. He does the puppy mouthing thing but clearly is not mean or aggressive. He might lick and mouth you death!
He also loves playing with other dogs. When he sees another dog while out on walks, he cries to be let loose to play. And if the other dog is willing, it turns into pure joy. Sometimes he scares littler dogs, though, because he is so enthusiastic.
I hope that explains his personality. He's really rather innocent, and very sweet. He want to please. He's also intelligent. He learns very quickly to sit for his treats; and while he likes to run on the beach, he stays pretty close to home and likes the security of his fenced in area.
Scruffy is currently living in Nogales, Mexico but needs to find a permanent home. The people who are taking care of him will be traveling from Nogales to Albuqueurque the first week of June and are not able to keep him due to an extended trip to Europe.
