I have a strong name: Vladimir. I was given a strong name because I have overcome some incredible odds to become adoptable. First, I was a stray cat without a family, without a home, without safety. But, I wanted to live, so I decided to do something about it.
I found this place that takes in cats who need love and shelter and food. It's called Desert Haven Animal Refuge. I started lurking around the Cool Cat Neighborhood at Desert Haven. I walked around when the people were there cuddling and feeding the resident cats. Then, finally I let them see me. I walked right up to the enclosure where all the fur-friends were purring and having breakfast. Those cats accepted me right away. The people, they were in awe over my handsome qualities. I am sleek and gorgeous with my shiny grey coat. I'm a Russian Blue fur-boy. Right away those good people set out to help me. They fed me and tried to pet me. I played coy for a spell, but then I just decided to go for it because I knew at any moment the coyotes could make me their lunch. I stepped into that live trap knowing darn well that my outdoor adventures needed to come to an end.
Safety and security, loving hands and gentle petting, food and a cozy bed, these are the things that Desert Haven has given to me. I am so grateful. Now, I want more. I want a family of my very own to dote on me. I want to give my family all the love in my heart, all the purrs in my throat, and all the strength in my constitution. I have mixed beautifully with all of the other cats here, so I can have fur-siblings, or I can be your one and only. It probably goes without saying, but of course, I need to be an indoor-only cat. It's not easy staying alive in the out-of-doors around these parts. But, I made it! I'm no longer lonely, worried, or sad. I'm a happy and grateful fella, and they call me Vlad. I think you should call me, yours. Love, Vladimir
