Hello there! My name is Smokey Blue. When I sat down to write my resume my first thought was, "What makes me who I am?".
My next thought was, "Geez, do I have enough time right now to write my resume AND tackle the scientific and philosophical question of 'nature vs nurture'?" Suddenly, a bird landed on my water bowl. I decided that no, I don't have extra time for debates today because I've got to focus on getting this resume done so I can resume my normal bird-watching activities.
With this resume, I'm hoping I can score an interview with you to see if you might want to hire me for the position of Greatest Dog Ever in your family. So here goes.
Smokey Blue's Resume
Objective: Form a partnership with my family in which everyone benefits.
Profile: Motivated 3 year old dog of Catahoula breed eager to be adopted into an active family where I can utilize my flairs for independence, intelligence, affection, protectiveness, and interest in hunting and working.
Skills: Family and personal spaces kept immaculate, meaning I treat toys, bedding, home furniture etc with the utmost care and I have great pride in my proficiency of being house-trained. Once we're bonded, I'll help keep my family safe. I will appreciate being introduced to people that are OK by you, and those that are not OK might get an earful about it from me. When you have a crappy day at work, my big dopey smile will turn your frown upside down. If you're still feeling crappy, we'll head out on a walk together or a play session to cheer you up. It's hard to stay in a bad mood around me, that's for sure!
Work History: I haven't had a job but if I had someone to teach me a job I'd be in seventh heaven. I crave learning and engagement. My "work" up to this point has mainly been in finding ways to self-entertain. Since I'm quite brilliant, I find self-entertaining to be easy by employing the following hobbies of choice: bird watching, squirrel chasing, lizard hunting, shade finding, stranger alerting, toy tossing, and copious amounts of sniffing.
Education: College of Hard Knocks has taught me that the living ain't always easy but remaining hopeful is key. I am a happy and optimistic dog because I don't see any sense in wallowing in self pity. My past home and family experiences taught me that I am a Great Dog and that any family is lucky to have me and the right family will teach me my place in the family unit. Once I understand my place, I will be loyal, affectionate, and gentle.
Relevant Experience: I think this section should be about my new family. What relevant experience do you have when it comes to owning and loving a Catahoula? Are you a confident owner? Do you get excited by the idea of owning a smart, slightly derpy dog?
Extracurricular Activities: Because I'm a fun and energetic breed, it could be said that my owners end up with more than a pet. I can work, help, hunt, learn, do. I do enjoy a good "roam and explore" but let's be bonded and have me with good recall first. Once we achieve that, woweee, let's roam the world together! I adore car trips and ride fabulously. Playing indoor and outdoor games where we can bond will make me swoon.
Physical Appearance: My distinct and unique markings coupled with my marbled eyes make me quite stunning, if I do say so myself.
There you have it, folks! What do you say? Can you pencil me into your calendar for an interview? I can be reached via the Petfinder "Start your inquiry" button or send a message on Facebook. Looking forward, Smokey Blue
