Hello hello hello! I'm Seka. When the volunteers here at Desert Haven told me that I get to write my own bio for Petfinder, I did what any good writer does -- got out my laptop and started to do some research. First, I looked up my breed (Shepherd and Husky mix) to see what the interwebs say about the those breeds. I didn't quite see myself described to a T so I figured I'd just tell you the juicy details about me.
I am a dream to leash up for a walk. I walk decent on the leash, hardly any pulling. I take treats gently and have a soft mouth. I'm learning commands and have already mastered "sit" but at the moment I still need the lure of high-value treats before I'll put my hinder down. I'm bright so it'll be fun to train me so I can have all sorts of good manners and great skills.
Actually, I am pretty mild-mannered: I don't seem to jump on people, I meet people in a friendly way, and I watch my people for cues. Aren't I already off to a fabulous start in this awesome life of mine!?
Once I've explored the yard, I might lay down and take a nap. I'm decent at keeping myself busy with exploration, playing with toys, and napping. But let's not forget to cuddle! When I lay down to snooze or relax I sure love to have you scratch my belly and pet me all over. We can lay close and snuggle up.
I finished up my internet research by googling my name, Seka, to see if there is any significance to it. There it was in black and white. I knew it all along. I felt it in my bones. But no one had told me before. Seka, in Japanese, means "wonderful". And that's just the kind of dog I am.
When we meet, I think you'll agree. Love you lots, Seka
(Seka is 1-2 years old and she weighs 50 lbs)
