Hello there! I'm Koda! I am a pint-sized dog with a huge-sized capacity for love! If you're looking for the type of dog that is affectionate but not all up in your business all the time, the kind that is whip-smart and loves to learn, a dog that is super-cute and really worth it -- you've found me! When I am your dog, there is no end to the amount of times you'll say, "Oh Koda! You're so awesome!" because I just have a whole lot of awesome in this smallish-frame of mine. I'm about 25 pounds and I have a mostly short coat with a thick and bushy squirrel tail. My squirrel tail is legendary as it curls up and wags so adorably when I am happy. I am happy with toys! I love to play and romp. I am especially thrilled with ball play and will chase down the ball and bring it back to you! Toss it up high and I'll try to catch the ball in the air. Roll it fast and I'll chase it down so fast! Playing with me is fun and I love to be engaged with my people enjoying our life together. I have met several volunteers here while living at Desert Haven and I will say I am not one of those dogs that just shows their ridiculous love for everyone right off the bat. For starters, I don't slobber, jump up on you, or otherwise make a fool of myself. I am only 12 months old but I'm a little more on the mature side for a dog who is still in the puppy ages. I prefer to meet you with some decorum and may even require a little of patience on your part while I give you a sniff sniff here and a side glance there. Once we become friends, then we're besties! So, the moral of the story is, I'm just the right size, just the right amount of maturity and smarts, just the right amount of playfulness, and just the right amount of adorableness.
