Hello, hello, hello! Or as I like to say in my language: Aarf, aarf, arf! My name is Patty and I am very pleased to meet you! I guess I'm pleased to meet just about everyone, dog and human alike, really. I am one of those girls that is just plain friendly!
I match up pretty closely with the profiles of my breed mixes which are thought to be Redbone Coonhound and Rhodesian Ridgeback. Normally the lady that writes these biographies doesn't put too fine a point on breed mixes as she's honestly just making educated guesses paired with the veterinarian's input.
But she saw the likes of me -- distinctly red-furred with the ridge on my back. Then she saw how sociable I am with dogs and people, how energetic and athletic I am too. She also noticed that I love water and swimming. She took note that I am very affectionate with people. The topper was when she heard me baying. All these clues led her to a look-see on the ole interwebs for confirmation of those educated guesses. And when she searched my characteristics in appearance and demeanor and All Things Patty -- the Hound and Ridgeback seemed to fit!
A great family for me will be one that loves to be active with me. A tired dog is a good dog, so they say. Living with a bunch of couch potatoes who only want to be couch potatoes --- probably wouldn't be active enough for me. I fancy myself a part-time couch potato and part-time fun-time gal!
I want to interact with my people and I think you will crave being with me too! Sometimes we can play, romp, hike, go on doggie play-dates, hit up the dog park. Then other times lets Netflix at night and snuggle up while you read a good book because being close and loving each other sounds perfect to me too. I am a World Class Hugger! I probably should have led with that fact! My Big Time Bear Hugs are legendary around Desert Haven. The volunteers line up to get a chance to hug ME! And I love it!
I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you that I am also a survivor! I had the unfortunate and wholly awful experience of being attacked by a mountain lion, I shit you not. I have scars on the top of my head to prove it. But guess what!? I don't even let that get me down. I got fixed up and healed. No dang mountain lion was going to make me a fraidy cat. I just keep living my life, giving out loving hugs, flashing my big beautiful smile, and being the Best Girl.
One thing that might make a great life for us is to have a doggie bro or sis for me. I really love playing with friendly, playful dogs. I like chasin, rompin, wrasslin, and more chasin. I meet dogs easily and think that living with a dog sibling would give me a built-in play-mate and that sounds pretty good.
So, there you have it, I'm Perfectly Patty! If I sound like your kind of girl, come give me a whirl! I'll be the one at the gate, eager to meet you. Love, Patty
